Magnetic tape stripe cards
Magnetic tape stripe cards are mainly used as access cards in, for example, fitness centers, hotels and office spaces. Cards Unlimited offers keycards nationally and internationally to large hotel chains and offers access cards to the fitness industry. Magnetic tape stripe cards exist in two forms:
- LoCo
- HiCo
These two types reflect the magnetic strength. The LoCo card is the cheapest, with which has to be mentioned that the card is sensitive to extreme magnetic fields. This means that this card cannot be held near strong fields, because the information can be lost.
The LoCo magnetic tape stripe card is often recognized by the brown or blue colour of the stripe.
The HiCo magnetic tape stripe card is insensitive to external magnetic fields and is recognized by the deep black colour of the stripe.
The ISO-magnetic tape stripe card normally contains three tracks, of which two are reserved for accescontrol purposes. The other two can be used for catering, payment etc. The card can be combined with other forms of technology such as Proximity, Contactchip and Mifare.
